Join Indigo Power, Yarra Junction community members, and project partners for the official launch of the Yarra Junction community battery.
This milestone project is a major step toward energy independence and sustainability in the Yarra Ranges. Managed by Indigo Power, the community battery (YARRA01) helps reduce pressure on the local grid while enabling energy sharing, making clean power more accessible and affordable for the community.
YARRA01 will store surplus solar energy from local households, allowing participants to draw from a shared reserve when the sun isn’t shining. This is expected to contribute to lower electricity costs and support the community’s environmental aspirations.
Supported by The Australian Government’s Community Batteries for Household Solar program, this pilot project is a significant step in the transition to renewable energy in Yarra Junction.
