Your Indigo Power service is changing.

Aug 27, 2025 | Indigo Power

Indigo Power is a small electricity provider dedicated to connecting customers to locally generated shared energy. To do that well, we work with an electricity retail partner (holding a retail licence) to handle many back-office functions. This allows us to focus on what matters most: supporting our customers and building community renewable energy projects that support our offer.

We’re excited to share that we are finalising arrangements with a new licensed retail partner. This transition will ensure we can continue offering electricity plans under the Indigo Power brand, while enhancing our service and strengthening the link between our customers and community-owned renewable energy.

When our new partnership is in place, we will provide all current customers with the option to transfer to Indigo Power’s new electricity service.

We would like to get your consent to either:

  1. Directly send you our new electricity offer, which will require you to explicitly consent to transfer to our new retail electricity partner; or
  2. Continue to communicate with you regarding our progress with establishing our new retail electricity partnership.

Alternatively, if you are not interested in remaining with Indigo Power, please let us know.

If you’d like to discuss the transfer with one of our customer service representatives, please give us a call on 03 57 463 222 or email [email protected]. We’re here to help.

Why the change?

  • Energy Locals is ending our current agreement on 1 October 2025. We’re negotiating an agreement with a new partner so we can continue serving you under the Indigo Power brand.
  • We intend for the shift to enable us to enhance service quality, and we’re negotiating to bring customer service in-house. As our fleet of community-owned renewable assets expands (including community batteries), we’ll have greater flexibility to integrate these assets into our energy supply approach. Over time, that means a retail product increasingly backed by community-owned clean energy assets.

What will happen next?

  • New South Wales: your account will move to the Energy Locals’ Standing Offer from 1 October 2025.
  • Victoria: your account will move to the Victorian Default Offer (VDO) with Energy Locals from 1 October 2025.

You can compare plans any time using Energy Made Easy (NSW) or Victorian Energy Compare (VIC)

After 30 September 2025, your account will move to Energy Locals’ default offer for your state. If you’ve opted in to hear from us, we’ll contact you with a new offer once we finalise negotiations with our new electricity retail service partner.
